EMBARRASSING! CNN Interviews Soldiers On Front Lines by YoungExec: 8:00pm On Jan 15, 2015 |
This may well be my lowest point as a Nigerian. Just watched CNN Nic Robertson as he interviewed Nigerian Soldiers fighting Boko Haram. They say they are not equipped, that their commanders embezzle their allowances. I'm so embarrassed http://edition.cnn.com/videos/world/2015/01/15/ctw-pkg-robertson-nigerian-soldier-boko-haram-fight.cnn 1 Like |

SHOULDN'T CNN START WITH THEIR OWN COUNTRY'S PROBLEMS? WHY HAVEN'T THEY INTERVIEWED AMERICAN SOLDIERS ON THE FRONTLINE WHO LACK EQUIPMENT? U.S. soldiers lack best protective gear By Jonathan Turley I recently received a note from one of the few husbands who knows just what his wife wants as a holiday gift. The Army sergeant (who asked to remain anonymous) e-mailed me from Iraq asking my help in finding him a store to buy body armor for his wife. Both the sergeant and his wife are serving in Iraq, and both have seen action. But, like thousands of U.S. soldiers, his wife was not given the vital ceramic plates for her Kevlar Interceptor vest to protect her from bullet wounds. Instead, he said, she had to scavenge to find plates left behind by Iraqi soldiers — plates of inferior quality that do not properly fit her vest. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/opinion/editorials/2003-12-17-turley_x.htm Study: U.S. Soldiers Not Adequately Equipped for War By Sandra I. "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Dr Martin Luther King. 200+ girls kidnapped! we have since moved on. 17 killed in France, the citizens rose and United in condemnation. Thousands killed in Baga and I and my countrymen are indifferent. No candle light procession, it's even under-reported by our local media. Instead, it's foreign media outlets that are highlighting the recent atrocity in Baga. 2 Likes |

ROSSIKE: The Inteeceptor amour carrier you mentioned earlier is provided to all personnel of the army on deployment however only forward operation soldiers are guaranteed to receive the high grade front , back and side plates , otherwise all other personnel (usually senior officers) who operate inside secure rear stations have the full vest which they nearly never wear. It would stop small arms fire protect from fragmentation grenades and 7.62 bullets at over 400m. Please if you don't know hold your peace , because in Nigeria we have forward soldier who don't all have ceramic plated vests , poor guns which have exceeded their barel life being issued 30 rounds - 60 rounds of ammunition. We would never compare not even slightly. Even among other African forces I can confirm nigeria is among the illest equipped 7 Likes |

ROSSIKE: CNN and American media reports such about their country and the fact that you posted this report by an American media means they have no problem reporting such issues in their country so what's your point? You attacking the messenger won't furnish the men and women your country send to fight terrorist with 1 bullet. We can not wait to get rid your type with shallow and incompetent mentality... 13 Likes |

ROSSIKE: You are a dullard! Are parts of our country under the occupation of Boko Haram or not? Why are we defending to stop more towns from falling instead of recapturing lost territory? Is any part of the USA under the control of insurgents? You are an idddiottt!! 5 Likes |

ROSSIKE:You're a brainless buffooon. So interviewed soldiers, not to mention several mutinying soldiers, who have revealed the inferiority of their weaponry compared to the terrorists they're fighting are "foreign media"? When will you rid yourself of this moronic apologist disease you continue to exhibit here? Do you realize how stu.pid you sound? Any slight criticism of this hopeless embarrsment of a country and you're spewing drivel about people "feeling inferior". You're one very twisted individual. 6 Likes |

ROSSIKE:So their media has actually reported it then? So what's the point of this garbage you're writing? That's the difference between a society that demands the very best no matter what they already have and your hopeless disgrace of a country. While they criticize the fact that the best equipped military in the world still has shortcomings to attend to, you have utter moorons like yourself with apologist drivel thumping your chest about how amazing your caricature of a country is. Is it any wonder that they're not the ones who have terrorists conquering swathes of their territory, while your great giant of Africa's army is getting humiliated by rag-tag terrorists? When will you ever tire of exhibiting your insecurity that you ridiculously try to mask with transparent patriotic bravado? It makes you look a bit dense. Grow the f.uc.k up! 5 Likes |

YoungExec:Where did the foreign media get the info from That the foreign media has more coverage and your TV is always tuned to them does not mean it was under reported by the local media. Rather the foreign media actually came under heavy criticism for under reporting the Baga incidence which happened earlier and was more atrocious than the Paris attacks(which the foreign media focused on). It is because of the criticism that you see a kind of surge in the reportage of the Baga incidence. |

wisov:GEJ is also responsible for the sunrise and sunset? Did you listen to what was said about BH not being a national issue but a regional and international issue that transcends borders. Did you also listen to the unanswered questions as to why the international community is so reluctant to help vs other regions eg in the middle east with very similar problems? Did also listen to the last words the soldier said when asked how he felt about continuing the fight against Boko Haram despite the challenges- He said and i quote "IT IS A CALL TO DUTY". I felt very very proud of that soldier. 1 Like |
