the Nigerian military has issued an official statement that Gen. Buhari WASC certificate is not in his record file.
The statement was issued today by General O. Layele as he addressed the press today in Abuja
According to him, Buhari enrolled into the Nigerian Army in 1960 when he was yet to graduate from the secondary school. His acceptance into the military was based on the letter written by his principal, vouching for his character and capability.
However, the officer said a record in Gen. Buhari file shows that he graduated from secondary school in 1961 with some grades but there was no result to prove this as thorough result verification and documentation were not done in the military in 1960.
From the above, it is not clear if actually he did graduate and was issued a certificate as no result was filed by Buhari to support the claim.
