ive always been told to stretch my body once i wake up. but really what is the health benefit of doing this?

Morning stretching can help with a couple of things
It relieves stress especially of you have tensed muscles.
Decrease risk of muscle strain or injuries.
Increases blood circulation to muscle and joints.
I have a couple of friends that do YOGA every morning and they say it works.
