Another chapter in the road to the 2015 elections was opened after Punch and The Sun newspapers published a controversial advert by Ekiti state governor Ayo Fayose.

The controversial ad showed late past leaders who died in office such as Murtala Muhammad and Musa Yar’ Adua, and urged Nigerians not to vote for someone who would die in office.
The advert drew widespread criticism from Nigerians, and even the PDP disassociated themselves from it.

Daughter of the late Sani Abacha, who is also mentioned, Gumsu Abacha, also heavily criticized the poster.

In a tweet, Gumsu said, “When will our leaders learn to respect their predecessors?? I am utterly disgusted by this poster. Shame!!! I still cannot believe it.”
