One of the most requested WhatsApp feature has finally arrived. The most popular IM app has just launched its Web client, meaning that WhatsApp users will now be able to chat with their contacts right from their desktop. Currently the service is only available for users on the Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry platforms while iOS was omitted. Why? Ask Google, lol.

Another limitation is that the service can only be use on Chrome browser for desktop and its Android based app though Whatsapp promise support for more browser soon. Whatsapp Web is a mirror of Whatsapp app with a wuite familiar UI and also was beautifully designed.

Step 1: Update your smartphone to the latest Whatsapp version.

Step 2: Visit web.whatsapp.com on your Whatsapp, where you will be greeted with a QR code that needs to be scanned.

Step 3: The webpage also lists where you can access the WhatsApp Web option on your Android, BlackBerry or Windows Phone device. Tap that option on your phone’s WhatsApp client, which will launch the QR code scanner.

Step 4: Scan the code and yipee! WhatsApp Web should launch in a matter of few seconds.

Kindly note that both your phone and PC must be connected to the internet which is a limitation in that you can use the web version without your phone been connected but it sure help if you forgot your phone at home and you have your system at hand and have pre-configure it. It requires a strong internet connection for it to be successfully configure and also to enjoy the juice of it. The Web client also include desktop notifications which is a pretty nifty addition to the existing features’ list.
