That was the dayz of lahkdar belloumi and rabah madjer.They alongside nigeria and cameroun where probably the best african country in football in the 80s.Quite sad they are no longer a force to be reckoned with.

It's a pity Algeria is no longer a force to reckon with in African football. I remember the 5-2 drubbing they suffered in Eagles's hand on the ir soil in September 2005.
