What more could possibly be crammed into the new Samsung Galaxy S6? The same question was asked before when the Galaxy S5 was announced. What more could possibly be added to the feature-packed Galaxy S4? It could be new features, better camera, added RAM, revolutionary materials; as long as technological innovations don’t stop, the Samsung Galaxy S line will never run out of suffix numbers. For now, let’s look at what’s in store for us with Samsung’s Galaxy S6.

Faster processor; it’s like stating the obvious, of course but what exactly? Samsung might use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 quad-core processor or their in-house Exynos 7420. They might even use both depending on which territory the phone’s distributed, something they’ve done before.

Larger screen; Samsung could put one in the Galaxy S6 or not but since Apple already caved in and released a larger phone, Samsung could trump Apple once again and release a bigger screen or better yet two Galaxy S6 versions. It’s not unlikely since Microsoft chose to really surprise people with something very few people knew they were working on (Hololens), Samsung might just spring its own surprise. But the rumor mill has it that Samsung might just blur the line between the S and the Note lines by releasing the S6 with a 5.5 inch screen.

Android Lollipop would be no surprise at all. The real surprise would be if Samsung uses Kitkat instead given Lollipop’s reputation of late. Rumor also has it that Samsung will be toning down TouchWiz for improved performance. IMHO, I use Start8 as a launcher for my Android phones. It works great with any high-end Android phone but Microsoft/Nokia might have something to say about that.

More megapixels; as if the human eye could take much more detail but of course every bit of picture quality is always welcomed. More pixels mean more space otherwise, how else will we spend the onboard storage faster and buy expansions? But rumors say that Samsung will significantly improve their neglected front camera to cash in on the selfie trend. Also, be surprised if Samsung doesn’t include optical image stabilization in the rear snapper. 20 megapixels is the rumored number for the rear and 5 megapixels for the front.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 could end up being another concern for airport security if Samsung decides on a premium all-metal one-piece case design. Platinum, aluminum, titanium alloy? It’s anyone’s guess, but for a flagship phone made by a company like Samsung, it’s the way to go.

Much is expected from Samsung after Apple’s latest iPhone 6 release but with all the rumors coming in, many of which sound great; the impact might not be all that great once the phones are released if they follow through with what’s in the grapevine. For a phone like the S6, they should leave a few goodies under wraps and give people reasons to ignore or toss LGs G3 and Apple’s iPhone 6plus.
