Mr Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla
Office of the Accountant General of the Federation
Abuja

This is to convey the modest compliments of the supervising honorable minister of health and to draw your attention to the fact that members of the joint heealth sector union (JOHESU) embarked on industrial action on midnight of the 6th november 2014 and have since been on strike.

They have despite thus been fully paid for the months of november and December. the most disturbing fact is that these striking workers are even earning incentives and promotional arrears.

they were also erroneously paid an extra salary in december 2014 making it the 13th month salary for them. a case in point at lagos university teaching hospital where doctors have not been paid december salary whereas those on strike (JOHESU) received an extra salary in the month of december.

Our prayer is that this situation is investigated and rectified in any of the affected tertiary health institution urgently. Meanwhile further salary payment to the striking health workers should be suspended till further notice. To this end, the IPPIS desk office of the federal ministry of medicalworldnigeria.com health has been mandated to work with the relevant units of your office to ensure that this is effected. You are kindly required to assist please

Please accept the assurances of the honourable minister of healths best regards

Signed: Dr Khaliru Alhassan, Hon minister of state/ supervising minister of healthmedicalworld nigeria

You can't be frolicking with your family at home doing no work for 3 straight months in the name of strike and still be getting paid angry . That's an unfair bargaining chip against the FG, I am not surprised it was cut off.

I can't imagine not working for three months and still expect to be paid....try this elsewhere and get sacked..

I remember one JOHESU member now in our skeletal services runed ward..came down with stroke,if these people aren't on strike she would have been salvaged...what goes around definitely comes around.

Bad political move for Jonathan, even if it's the right thing to do. Johesu timed it well, that the third month of the strike would be in the heat of campaigns. Now Buhari propagandists have butter for their bread...or is it yaji for their suya? grin
