Apply for EF Academy’s first Founder’s Scholarship Essay Competition in celebration of EF’s 50th anniversary.

To qualify for Founder's Scholarship, students need to be admitted to a[b] two-year EF Academy program[/b] and submit an application essay. The scholarship winner will earn a $50,000 (USD) scholarship to attend high school abroad at any of our state-of-the-art campuses in the USA or UK.

1. How does it work?
Apply today. In your application package, provide a memorable answer to the question:

How will you look back at your life when you are 50 years old?

2. Qualify locally
Your essay and application will be reviewed by a jury of academic experts designated by EF Academy. In March or April 2015, you may be one of the students selected to compete in the Local Final (details for the Local Final will be announced shortly). Convince us that you best embody the EF Academy values of Internationalism, Intelligence, Creativity, and Curiosity, and you will be named the Finalist representing your country(Nigeria) at the Global Final in New York on 28 May 2015!

3. Compete globally
As the Finalist, you will travel to EF Academy New York, all expenses paid, for a week of workshops, competition and sightseeing. Wow our esteemed panel of judges with a presentation of the Global Final Topic, and you may well be named the 2015 Founder’s Scholar—and grand prize winner of $50,000 (USD) in scholarship funds to attend EF Academy for two years at your choice of campuses in the USA or UK.


How to apply
1. Register your interest for applying to the Founder’s Scholarship here. You will receive a confirmation email confirming your interest with instructions for how to upload your EF Academy application and essay.

2. Complete your EF Academy application form for one of the following two-year programs: IGCSE, IB Diploma, A-Level, American High School Diploma. Simply download our application file and follow the enclosed instructions.

3. Write an application essay in English on the following subject (max 400 words):
“ How will you look back at your life when you are 50 years old?”

4. Upload your completed application form and essay by following the instructions provided in the received email. Once you have submitted your documents, an email confirming your official acceptance into the scholarship competition will be sent.

Who may apply?
Any high school student who meets the application criteria to attend a two-year EF Academy program, beginning September 2015.
