By Emmanuel Udom
Lagos — Goggle, a popular online search engine, on Friday re-opened the blog of Linda Ikeji, a Nigerian blogger, after blocking it on Thursday on accusations of intellectual thief.

Saturday Independent recalled that www.lindaikeji..com, was blocked by the search engine, which generated mixed reactions across the globe.

Goggle accused the millionaire blogger of always lifting breaking and exclusive stories and pictures from media platforms across the globe without bordering to credit the sources.

The action, checks by our correspondent reveal, runs contrary to the rule of engagement and terms of service of Google, which could attract a fine of $10,000 or jail terms.

However, when Taiwo Kolade-Ogunlade, manager, Communications & Public Affairs was contacted late Thursday, he declined to speak on specifics regarding the actions of the popular search engine

His words: "Google as an organisation takes issues of copyright seriously and belongs to a group of digital companies that respect copyrights, saying that copyright is a big deal and this is why you can't just go and pick up another person's intellectual property or content and lay claim to its ownership"

But, the lady at the center of the storm accused cyber -squatters and hackers of trying to bring her blog down.

She mentioned Mukhtar Dan'Iyan, editor-in-chief of The 15 Past Eight Media Group based in the United States of America as one journalist that has been lifting stories and pictures from other media platforms without crediting his sources.

However on Friday, checks by Saturday Independent reveal that the blog has been un-blocked by the search engine, thereby making it possible for her fans to access the blog.
