The Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Haliru Dantoro Kitoro III has urged politicians to desist from making empty promises and overheating the nation’s polity in view of the current security challenges.

The royal father made the call yesterday in New Bussa, Niger State, while receiving the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign team in his palace.

The royal father maintained that politicians must take into consideration the peace and security of those they aspire to lead by not making utterances and engaging in acts that will overheat the polity and compromise the security of the nation.

He said if politicians truly care for the people they should ask themselves questions why there were large crowd of youths available for them at campaign rallies saying “they should ponder why the large turn out this is food for thought for them”

The Royal father advised politicians to desist from making promises they knew they will not be able to keep and that if they know they can not keep the promises they should not make any to raise the hope of the people.
