The pressmen are still waiting for Prof. Attahiru Jega, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, to appear and brief them at the venue of the scheduled press conference.
According to The Cable’s live coverage of the press event, the press briefing room is filled with journalists, most of who have been waiting at the INEC headquarters for hours as Jega is currently meeting with his 12 national commissioners.

The delay has raised fears within the hierarchy of the INEC that Jega may be considering resignation, The Eagle Onlie reports.

Latest reports suggest that 21 of 37 resident electoral commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission have rejected the proposition to shift the date of Nigeria’s general elections initially scheduled for February 14 and 28.
