When it comes to fighting corruption in Nigeria, former head of states and former ANPP, CPC and currently APC presidential flag-bearer Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is highly respected for this.

When Buhari was Nigerian head of states he had zero tolerance for indiscipline.

The merger of political parties to form the All Progressive Congress APC has taken catapult Buhari’s political ambition to another level.

Nigerians including myself widely believe that the incumbent Goodluck Jonathan administration is a corrupt administration, though he inherited the deplorable state of the nation with corruption as a culture and tradition from former president Olusegun Obasanjo. And this is the reason people wants Gen Buhari to come in and save Nigeria.

Though I respect Buhari in his relentless struggle to eliminate corruption from our country, but I strongly doubt that Gen. Buhari can fight corruption without fear of favour if elected under the platform of APC.

With the caliber of supporters and sponsors who surrounds Gen. Buhari, it will be impossible for him to properly fight corruption because to fight a problem, you need to investigate the root cause of that problem.

Most of the top funders and supporters of Buhari’s campaign are former PDP members who looted government treasury when they were in PDP. Notable among them are Olusegun Obasanjo, Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Ameachi.

It’s no secret or story that Obasanjo’s administration contributed a lot of the problem we are facing in this democratic dispensation. He now hates Jonathan because Jonathan has refused to play the game according to his rules.

Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Ameachi is another corrupt PDP dropout who is now sponsoring Buhari’s campaign. If Jonathan administration is corrupt, then there’s no doubt that Ameachi who was once a strong PDP member was not corrupt when he was in their cabal.

If APC members and Buhari are decent politicians as they claim, then why are they admitting PDP dropouts into the party to fund APC campaigns?

In a PDP presidential rally held at Akwa Ibom, it was said that back then when Ameachi was in PDP (his former looting camp) he bought an aircraft worth $54m with government fund and later converted to aircraft to his personal property, and today the aircraft is used for Buhari’s campaign. Is Buhari not benefitting from looted money from a corrupt PDP dropout?

Also, there’s no doubt that when Atiku Abubakar was Nigerian vice president under OBJ he did not share in the then OBJ led corrupt administration until they had a misunderstanding. Buhari now enjoys Atiku’s wealth which he mostly looted during his tenure as vice president.

Atiku donated Five Land Cruiser Jeeps, One Helicopter And N500m for Buhari’s campaign. Is Buhari not enjoying the wealth of a corrupt politician?

In summary, I see Buhari as a person who is fighting a criminal
Using another set of dreaded criminal gangs. Hence Gen. Buhari
will not be capable to fight corruption if elected as Nigerian
president.

Fighting corruption has nothing to do with searching for past leaders who embezzled our funds. It is about preventing the further embezzlement of
our funds.

Except of course, his definition of anti-corruption is removing an anini and installing a yahoo-yahoo or a hacker. One is a rough, crude thief that steals at an arithmetic rate, the other a professional thief that steals at a geometric rate.

Buhari should just stop that anti-corruption sermon undecided

Those who expect much from buhari particularly in anti corruption fight must be very naive. Even if he has the political will to fight his corrupt sponsors, is he going to be the prosecuting agents as well? Tinubu & Amaechi can always pay the price mentioned by EFCC, ICPC or any other agencies instituted by government.

I talk am. Past leaders, even to civil servants who didn't steal are hungry for a comeback to fill up the empty accounts and pockets. Always heard that Ambrose Alli didn't even have his own personal home, na contribution they take build house for am. We are just trying to pick the lesser evil between GMB and GEJ .

That being said, make I go fine my PVC for where Jega put am. Up CPC, UNDP , UPS, SSS, wait first let me ask goggle.

Don't underestimate GMB o. That man can probably even axe the fingers that fed him.
He knows he needs those people to get to the seat, after getting there he can change.
Isn't that why people don't trust him?

you think so?
You think some of them will just 'chop and clean mouth'?
You think some haven't made connections that ll help him to continue to siphon?
You need to probe some of them to block those channels

My brother you don't get it. Many of you think that Buhari can wage a unilateral war against corruption and succeed in stamping it out. He cannot; nobody can at this point in time.

It will be impossible for Buhari to go against the likes of Tinubu, Amaechi, Bukola Saraki, and the other corrupt thieves surrounding him now. Why? Even if Buhari attempts to do that, he will have to rely on institutional support - the law courts, the national assembly, the law enforcement agencies (EFCC and Co.). These institutions are filled with corrupt people who will be sympathetic to (and easily influenced by) these political gladiators. If Buhari decides to arrest Tinubu or anyone else, he will need the EFCC to build a water tight case and prosecute with incontrovertible evidence. He would need the courts to handle the cases diligently and dish out convictions and jail terms expeditiously. He would need members of the National Assembly to make laws and conduct hearings that support the fight against corruption.

Unfortunately, assuming that Buhari is the no-nonsense anti-corruption freak that he claims to be, the same cannot be said about the other Nigerians that populate the crucial institutions required to fight corruption in a democracy.

Buhari cannot simply order the arrest and indefinite detention of anyone he suspects of corruption. He would have to go through the same corrupt channels and institutions set up by law to deal with such issues. How then can he succeed? At best he will be another clueless figurehead president like Shagari who may not be personally corrupt but would sit in his office while his subordinates, civil servants, law enforcement officers, judges, legislators, and the others will continue to amass billions as usual. People need to understand this. If the so-called promise to fight corruption is the only selling point of Buhari's candidacy, then I'm afraid he has absolutely nothing to offer.
