In-form Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been named the premier league’s Player of the Month for January.

The 21-year-old who only became a regular this season for Spurs scored five goals in four league appearance in January – notching up a brace each against current premier league leaders Chelsea and West Brom and also got a goal at the Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

The Spurs academy graduate beat the likes of Dwight Gayle (Crystal Palace), Oscar (Chelsea), Southampton defender Jose Fonte, Emre Can (Liverpool), and Santi Cazorla (Arsenal).

Kane is already in the running for the February award as he has scored three times in two games already with a brace against North London rivals Arsenal and a goal in the 3-2 defeat at Anfield to Liverpool.[color=#006600][/color]
