Democracy they say is the government of the people, by the people and for the people. It is the only system of government that guarantees freedom of virtually everything ranging from speech, association, religion and many others. However politically, ideology tends to help electorates in their voting pattern not necessarily along party lines but by the ideology of the parties and how it affects the electorates and the society at large.

Over time, political parties have chosen to be conservative or liberal on various issues which formed the foundation such parties were built. In the US for instance, voters are splitted between democrat/Republican not necessarrily because of the party but what they stand for on issues that affect their lives. If you want welfare, obamacare, a strong middle class including tax cut for them and tax increase on the rich, vote democrats. Howvever, if you oppose obamacare, supports America invasion of syria, tax holiday for the rich among others, vote for the GOP. These have been the defining factors in any American election and the electorates hardly change their views.

The case of Barcanista shows a typical Nigerian youth who believe in something but can't stand for it in the face of gratification or threat only to succumb and found new love where he once condemned. Democrats legislators seldom oppose some of obama's reforms and even vote against them but that doesn't and hasn't taken away their liberal values from them. They only disagree with Obama's policy not the ideology of the party.

It is in this regards that I strongly condemn the attitude of Barcanista as it's belittling and unacceptable in a sane democracy. If this trend continues where youths loose their minds after being promised money and jobs, this portends grave danger for Nigerian democracy. We all saw beaf here during the last elections and he quickly deactivated his account after the elections. Abati, fayose, fani, beaf and now Barcanista. . . . . What do they really stand for ?

It's time to start building a new political ideology away from the politics of the old men in power and when the time comes, where will the youths be ?

He who stands aloof runs the risk of believing himself better than others and misusing his critique of society as an ideology for his private interest.

Give it up bro. The young man wants to air his views without been called names and attacked.

Its not like that in APC.

In APC, you have to follow blindly. That is not true democracy. Let this matter die joor, after all the guy has only one PVC.

In PDP we allow people to say whatever they like and no one questions or attacks them.

Why is everyone attacking obasanjo for questioning the leadership of Jonathan ? So much for PDP I guess.

I don't get what you're trying to imply.
Is it because he is now acting as a neutralized APC member ?
