Now that Obasanjo is a member of the APC (maybe not denotatively as of yet).. What next? A lot of politically conscious minds would be pondering on the intrinsic implications of the actions of the political gladiator. For quite some time now, Obasanjo has lost touch of what he was in Nigeria: "the political lord". What could be more demeaning than a man of Obasanjo's standing losing election in his home state? That is politics you may say! But the old man understands it better than just politics per se. He realised he has lost political relevance. So what next: He took to blackmail, character assassination and condemnation of the characters of his prodigy- those same characters he decorated his prodigy with. What a shame! Every politically conscious Nigerian knows that Obasanjo is no longer a sign of good omen. The PDP realised that to attain the much desired revolution in Nigeria, Obasanjo would be an impediment. They stood strongly by President Jonathan. He went against Obj. Obj dumped PDP. Or was it PDP that dumped Obj? Now he is heading towards APC- the party with a self acclaimed integrity bearing dictator as its presidential candidate. Unfortunately for the APC, they failed to realise that Obasanjo's closeness is doing more harm than good. #FACT. There is indeed jubilation and celebration in the PDP (not the things you read on papers) over the exit of Obasanjo. #FACT. A quick survey revealed that about 2.8% of a sampled population of Nigerians redirected their support to Jonathan when the news of Obasanjo's card tearing filtered in. Their reason: Obasanjo brought PDP to its present status. Jonathan is trying reposition the party. A greater population of Nigerians had the impression that Jonathan still receives instructions from Obj somehow. The new turn of events explained otherwise. Do you see this percentage increasing rapidly? Or do you think the PDP would be hurt by Obasanjo's exit in the long run?

Stop saying rubbish. Obasanjo is not a member of APC. Moreover, PDP is now begging him to come back, according to its chairman. So keep deceiving yourself.

If PDP is begging Obasanjo to come back (which is very unlikely), they are trying to portray him as relevant. This is a tactic to make APC feel they have an asset. Trust me, you need to be in the know of how things work to realise this. Like I said in my write-up, Don't believe everything you read on papers. Nigerian politics is deeper than what the prints portray. Believe it or not, Obasanjo is a political infection. When APC would realise his effect in getting close to them, it may too late.
