Ofcourse it can be used but if you want it more better use 9inches for the foundation

In as long as it is a bungalow 6 inch block is okay, It can be braced with pillar depending on the topography of the land.

Here's what I know based on my research and I defer to the learned "Engineers" on the forum grin

Do the perimeter of the house in 9" blocks but you can do the rooms and partitions in 6", this is what I'm doing in my bungalow.

I will not do the foundation or perimeter in 6" unless it's concrete filled.
