The most searched stories on Google is revealed in the January trending searches. Sacrosanct also appears as the most Googled word in Nigeria in January.

Topping the list of the most searched story in Nigeria is the news of the death of Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe.
The Anambra State born actor succumbed to a kidney ailment on Sunday, January 18 and his fans in Nigeria hit Google to either confirm the news of his death, follow up on the cause of his death and know more about the
reclusive actor.

Number two on the list is French Satirical Weekly Charlie Hebdo which made headlines when two Islamist gunmen invaded the weekly paper’s Paris offices and unleashed torrents of bullets, blood and death, leaving 12 dead, many more injured.

The Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari is next on the list.
The controversies surrounding his certificate makes him appear on the list in third position.

Chris Kyle, who is regarded as the most lethal sniper in U.S. Military history makes this list at number four.
His biopic titled American Sniper was released in December 2014 and sparked a host of controversies which prompted many searches on Google.

Wizkid’s music video for his record “Ojuelegba” made it at number five while late King of Suadi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who died in January makes it on number six.

Zahra Buhari, one of the daughters of General Muhammadu Buhari’s
daughter appears in seventh place.
She became the talk of social media platforms when her photos were
unveiled.
For his controversial attack on Goodluck Jonathan, Father Mbaka
makes it on number 8 while one of Tuface’s baby mama Pero Adeniyi
makes it on number nine.
She made news after photos of her and Tuface kissing went viral on
Nigerian blogspere.
Radio Presenter, Olumayowa Orisatola who passed on in the early
hours of January 16 makes it on number 10.
