Goodluck Promises To Establish Nigeria's First Ever Co-operative University by Nobody: 2:33pm On Feb 21, 2015 |
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has promised to establish Nigeria's first-ever co-operative university if re-elected into office as part of an industrial programme that will enhance agri-businesses and food processing. Making the promise in Lagos while on a campaign trip, President Jonathan revealed his plans to participants at an interactive session at the Odua Cooperative Alliance (OCA) at State House, Marina. He added that he would set up a study group to examine how such a university functioned in Kenya to determine the various faculties and departments suitable for Nigeria. President Jonathan said: “The issue of university is that, you will nominate some people and we will send them to Kenya to go and really look at the setting up of the Cooperative University. They will look at the key departments and faculties they have. “I really believe in the setting up of specialised universities. That was why I set up the Maritime University in Delta State.” According to President Jonathan, the federal government would liaise with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to create access to the cooperative movement to soft loans for small and medium-scale enterprises. He added that his administration created the Youwin and other programmes to grant interest- free loans to young entrepreneurs and will incorporate cooperatives into its plans. Furthermore, President Jonathan said he would require inputs from OCA to enable the federal government to review the cooperative laws in the country to adapt them to current realities. He said a lot of laws in the country needed to be amended and acknowledged the passion of the OCA in lifting the image of the country in the international arena. OCA president Asiwaju Adetokumbo Osisanya, said the group was satisfied with the great transformation President Jonathan had brought to the country. He asked that President Jonathan make N200bn (£651m) available for the National Cooperative Fund as provided in the National Cooperative Policy of 2002 and to relax guidelines for access to the CBN's N200bn SME fund. In addition, OCA also requested that the government provide an intervention fund for the effective take- off of the National Cooperative Transport Scheme, as well as a favourable policy framework for members to access national mortgage for housing. In addition, the group assured the president of massive support with their votes during the 2015 elections. |

HOW TO BE AN APC MEMBER OR FAN 1. Create lies; 2. Attack and insult violently when facts are presented; 3.Scream "Sai Buhari" if faced with superior argument. 4. Lose your sense of rationality and logic. 5. Insult the president and anyone that supports him 6. Lie that GEJ stole $49 billion. 7. Disagree with any event or post that portrays GEJ in a goodlight and agree with any event or post that portrays GEJ in a badlight. 8. Disagree with any event or post that portrays GMB in a badlight and agree with any post showing him in a goodlight. 6. Celebrate bokoharam attacks by shouting "GEJ is Clueless, Our soldiers are weak and 6weeks is counting oh" What surprises me is the ease and unremorseful impunity at which Buhari and his supporters tell lies. You can never see any iota of morality in them, it's such a shame! If they tell you they represent change tell them to refute the attached picture. Imagine Tinubu telling you he will fight corruption..don't be decieved..Vote wisely. ![]() 1 Like 1 Share |

GEJ built schools and universities and he is still thinking of building more just so that we have competitive edge over others and boost our national literacy level and GMB is thinking of building prisons to incarcerate nigerians. The best legacy a leader can give to his people is education, and is why the south west are ever grateful to obafemi owolowo. #GEJtill2019. 1 Like 1 Share |
