It seems you are behind the times. It has since been established that different requirements were applied for Southern and Northern candidates. *HINT* Your experience will depend on whether you are from the North or South. |

Tranquill: Obasanjo told a lie. Like the second general said, so many retired general did not possess the requirements when they were enrolled. A whole lot of them used other people vacancies to gain entry and that is why many of the bear service names that they are not known with in their towns. 1 Like |

Both might be right. General Paul Tarfa joined in the north, while General Olusegun Obasanjo joined in the west. Also both joined at different time, may be the rule of joining was relax a bit when the younger general joined. |

Tranquill: Logically you can't categorically say either of them is lying cos the data provided is not sufficient enough to pass any judgement. Knowing the time period the two of them were referring to would go a long way in determining the authenticity of their statements. On the other hand if critically examined one can say the two of them were saying the truth. Paul Tarfa I believe was referring to an earlier time period than OBJ going by the word "Nigeria-nizing". Its a time when the Colonial Masters were freshly drafting Nigerians into the military. This is a pre-Obj era. The man was maybe using his own time to judge so you can hardly fault the man. OBJ: Obj was spot on. He didn't mince his words on Buhari's certificate. It was a compulsory requirement during and after his time and till date. The question is were they required by the military then to submit their original credentials before joining the military? But the answer is No. GMB already said his certificates were carted away by the military during the 1985 coup. Meaning he had it before then and must've used it to enter the military but presently he doesn't know its whereabouts(its lost). He has sworn an affidavit to it being with the military. To think of it, shouldn't we have forgotten this certificate issue by now cos the constitution never mandate the possession of certificate as a criteria for contesting. |

Those days employment into any govt parastatals is very much in abundancy than those seeking to be employed. The military has said, what they had of Buhari was Letter of Recommendation from his Principal and Buhari just procured his Certificate last month January 2015. So, whether the certificate is authentic or fake, the issue is Buhari upon admission into the NDA did not own a WASC. |

jomoh: You are wrong bro. You should read Obasanjo's statement very well. Buhari's was admitted 4 years after Obasanjo and I think Tarfa was same time or few years after Buhari. The Military said they only have a recommendation letter from Buhari's principal that says he believes that HE WILL PASS HIS WASC and Buhari is yet to refute this. It should not be forgotten because it has to do with rules and the law which are the main essence of democracy especially if we desire for a better society where no one is above the law. |
