Dear Nairalanders, please I want to know what Project Management is all about and its benefits to Law profession. (Can a lawyer offer such a program).

Project management is a discipline that helps to
use proven techniques and tools to reach project
objectives including cost, scope and time. It is a
young profession and is applicable to any form of
major projects ranging from IT, construction or
agriculture.
I am not sure of the connection between Law and PM
besides the legal ethics of projects which can be a major
factor that determines the success or failure of projects.
I am not a project manager but I intend to retire as a
software project manager.

Project management can be greatly used in Law.
As a lawyer, if you're representing a client, you can break his case down to series of tasks or activities in project management terms, once you've reached an accomplishment in the case, you can set it as a milestone and so on.

Project Management is not just used in the technical industry, but in services as well. It has a way of keep every tasks organised.
