PRESIDENT JONATHAN MEET WITH LAGOS YOUTHS, URGE THEM TO MAKE USE OF THE OPPORTUNITIES IN HIS ADMINISTRATION

“Meet the President” was held on Sunday, March 1, at Eko Hotel & Suites, it attracted more than 5,000 Lagos youths. The event organized by PVC which stands for Participate, Vote, Country – a group of Nigerian young professionals, businessmen, entrepreneurs and civil society groups committed to mobilizing public action for national development and youth participation in politics.

Highlights of President Goodluck Jonathan Speech at the event:

President Jonathan said he came from a poor background and education brought him the opportunity to be the Nigeria President.
President Jonathan present People’s Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader as the first youth leader which fall to the age group of youth.
President Jonathan said his administration has done more road than any previous government in the country and promised to fix the remaining Federal Government roads in the country in the next 3 years.
The youth represent the future of the country, which is why his administration and party is giving young Nigerians priority.
President Jonathan said electricity is the major problem affecting the micro, small and medium enterprises in the country.
President Jonathan said many young Nigerians are creative and do not have opportunity to make showcase and his administration will make more opportunities available to the youths.
SURE-P/YOUWIN initiatives was created to give grants and not loans to innovative young Nigerians.
12 Federal universities was established to make sure every state in the country has a Federal university and young people have access to quality education.
Police College in Kaduna was upgraded to award bachelor degree this is to make young people have BSc when they join Nigeria Police.
Maritime university was established to make young Nigerians tap into the opportunities in maritime industries with the large coastal and the influx of vessels in Nigeria.
President Jonathan advice young Nigerians to make use of the ICT reform of his administration.
President Jonathan promised that his administration and party will continue to do things that will protect the interests of Nigerian youths.
Acknowledgement card was presented to the President for the work well done by the Nigerian Military recently in combating boko haram in the North East.

Some Nigerian entertainers, Toyin Aimakhu, Mo’Cheddah, Omoni Oboli, Oritsefemi urged Nigerian youths to vote president Goodluck Jonathan in the upcoming elections, while speaking at the event. Sean tizzle, Tosin Martins, Orezi and host of others performed at the event. Nineteen year old Nigerian pilot was presented at the event.
