All hail the current Almajiri; The future boko Haram...
This is the crime of the North; This is the shadow that is haunting the nation...

As you slow down in traffic in any of the towns of northern Nigeria, they swarm round your car, clothes all tattered and torn. They hold their little plastic bowls protectively against their chests with one hand, as if their lives depend on it, and stretch out the other, looking at you with eyes pleading for money, any amount that would help them get by that day.

For decades, these “almajirai” (child beggars) have roamed the streets virtually invisible to all but international development agencies such as UNICEF, a few NGOs, and much later a couple of legislators who sponsored a now stuck bill against child destitution...

This is the failure of the northern Nigeria leaders and they have to stand up to correct this injustice to the innocent children before they turn monsters!

For the record, I commend GEJ for taking a bold step toward eliminating this monstrosity.

Anyways, DesChyko is talking to you..

DesChyko:

...However, the variety of information on that thread made me document its statistics for interested viewers to analyse and see for themselves.
Out of a total of 80 comments in a thread that asked for opinions....
24 comments were out of point and not related to the discussion in anyway.
17 comments were supporting or opposing political parties.
12 comments were hurling insults at one another.
22 comments were related to the topic.
And only 5 comments showed real knowledge and depth in the demands of the thread with advice and realtime scenario analysis.

If this were to be a Sample Space for Nigerian citizenry, this would mean that:
66.3% have little or no idea how to react in this situation and would either play the blame game or remain indifferent to managing this scenario.
27.5% have the desire to pull through but have the necessary know-how or perfect emotional balance to do just that.
6.25% are the elite few that really know how to adapt and survive in such scenario with minimal fuss.

...Perhaps, in truth, the youth are not old enough to lead the country. Forget the GEJ till 2019s and GMB/PYO buhahas...
...Until we embrace individual changes in mentality for the sake of patriotism, Nigeria would continually remain in the shackles of the despots and their greed-spawned godfathers. Our choices and views are quite mindnumbing...

It's not about anybody. It's not about any party. It's about yourself...

This practice might be glamourous during Usman danfodio's time but presently, it is so outdated and pure wickedness to those kids. This practice should be censored in such a way that those kids should have both contemporary education and their islamic education and they should not be seen roaming the streets begging for food. Finally, their leaders no go listen.

Truth.

They are a product of many failures, chiefly:

-Failed parent
(not poor parent, as an average poor southerner will not subject the beloved kids to this wickedness)

-Failed society
(a cultural environment where priorities are misplaced; it is no longer a crime but to subject children to this kind of humiliations)

-Failed elite
(It serve the purpose of the caste-minded elite to have ignoramus and untrained kids at their beck and call)

-Failed culture
( a culture that celebrate marriages/weddings but care not about the welfare of the products)

-Failed leaders
(Alhaji commissioner is a millionaire after just one tenure, abeg how much be him salary. Abi him get Indomie factory)

-Failed religious institution
(a narrative that promote this despicable practice couple with the mallams' need for cheap livelihood & power)

-Failed nation
(A government that praises these Northern leaders/governors as performers despite their gargantuan failure)

Does El-Rufai has a project to address this malaise in Kaduna state?
This a time for a real leader to demonstrate the duty of care and maybe force other Northern leaders into glory.
