Malik Shabbazz Abdulmalik from Facebook:

THE ANTECEDENTS OF MUHAMMED BUHARI:
THE LIES TOLD AT CHATTAM HOUSE - PART
3
“From the time they came to power with
promises of “restoring the economy”, nearly
half a million workers have lost their jobs”.
Those are words of the Mobilisation
Committee of the Nigerian Labour Congress
(NLC). It can be found on Bulletin No. 1, of
1984.
When General Muhammed Buhari became
Head of state, something dramatic happened:
The price of Nescafe (medium size) was
N1.00 (in 1983, but by the end of 1984 it was
N6.00; Tomato puree (standard size) was
50K!, by the end of 1984 it was N1:50k;
sugar moved from 70k to N3.50; Detergent
(small size) moved from 30k to N1.50k; Beer
(standard) moved from 72K to N1.50k; bag
of rice moved from N80.00 to n250.00:
Lactogen (medium) moved from 5.00 to
N16.00; NAN moved from N6.00 to N22.00.
A survey conducted by the National Concord
Newspaper in January 1985 showed that
baby food items rose by more than percent
following the announcement.
There is need not to mention the fact that
Muhammed Buhari's regime was a levy
infested regime. For example in Imo state,
levies and endowments became a means of
passing onto the citizens the responsibility of
generating revenue which is the function of
the Government. Although, this was not
effective in Northern states. In Imo state,
citizens are regularly expected to contributed,
in addition to income tax, among other
things:
1. Education Levy;
2. Development Levy;
3. Sports Endowment;
4. Blood Bank.
Nigerians became their own Government, and
their own vampires.
It is noteworthy to state that the Imo State
Government announced that it was capable of
paying workers their salary as when due -
monthly. Also, by virtue of the indirect levy
called the Imo formula, workers were
expected to be 'content' with a percentage of
their salary, which was not less than 75
percent per month.
States like Rivers State, had their own 'levy
wahala'. As the Government introduced a
'sanitation levy' of N600.00 per year per
industrial establishments, and N24.00 per
residential 'room'. That is huge! (See the
GUARDIAN of January 26, 1985.

I wish you will balance this expose up by stating the prices of these same items when GEJ took over power & what they are now? For example, what is the Naira/Dollars exchange rate when GEJ came into power & what is it now? What is the value of (stock) market capitalization when this administration came into being & what is it now? How much was the foreign reserve in 2010 & what is it now? I ain't saying GMB is better or worse, am only saying you should be fair in your assessment by considering the 2 sides.

I hope U know GEJ took over a lot on his shoulder juts like Obama did. But U can never ever compare America with Nigeria. We are still growing. America has attained menopause or almost. D naira/dollar shift is not just here. Even Russia isn't left out. Dis man don over try O. Let's give him some credit. He's just a little slow, that's all
