Why MASSOB Calls For Urgent Removal Of INEC Chairman by 9jagistonline(m): 6:00pm On Mar 05, 2015
The Body Known as Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has called for the removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) head, Attahiru Jega.

According to Vanguard newspaper, the group vowed to resist elections in the south unless Jega leaves.
Their leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, made this known during the March 4 world press conference in New Owerri, Imo State.
Uwazuruike expressed concern over the controversy surrounding the INEC chairman’s character.
An take out from the statement titled “Jega Must Go” reads:
“It has become increasingly worrisome that despite strong allegations of bias against the INEC boss, Attahiru Jega, he, Jega, is still preparing to conduct the forthcoming general elections.”
According to the MASSOB chair, such situation results in lack of credibility in relation to the polls conduct.
“In such crisis as usual the safety of live and property of Ndigbo in the North and other parts of Nigeria will be targets for destruction.
“From the onset, Jega was not prepared for free and fair elections. He demonstrated that by his infamous 30,000 polling units, where he allotted more than two-third of the polling units to the North.
“Despite public outcry, the Senate also passed a resolution stating that the polling units should not be used. Still, Jega went ahead and converted the polling units to voting centres in the North.”
Uwazuruike also lamented that Jega enable distribution of more than 90 per cent of the Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) in the North-East badly affected by Boko Haram insurgency, but failed to deliver 50 per cent of them before announcing the polls postponement.
He concluded that all those things were indicative of potential bias.[http://www.9jagistonline.com/][/http://www.9jagistonline.com/massob-calls-for-urgent-removal-of-inec-chairman/]
