The House of Representatives committee on Niger Delta yesterday queried the ministry for alleged purchase of recharge cards worth over N8 million as reflected in the breakdown of its 2014 budget.

Chairman of the committee, Warman Ogoriba (PDP, Bayelsa), who presided over the budget defence session of the ministry, frowned at such careless spending.

The committee members demanded explanation from both the minister, Dr Steven Oruh, and the permanent secretary, Ms. Fatima Bello, on how N8 million could be used for recharge card.

Fashola boys spend more but our ever corrupt press will look other side. Or how can somebody claim his aids spend 250 milion on calling and not get any bashing from the press? Brown envelope at work.
