INTRODUCTION

In the last couple of years, the Nigerian Fashion Industry has experienced tremendous development from the local arena into an international phenomenon, Nigeria, a country whose fashion industry had not been given its due place suddenly became a multi-national avenue for the worlds most celebrated models and designs. It is with this view that we have decided to organize the 1st student Designers Fashion show.

PURPOSE
To promote, encourage, educate and showcase the works of student Designers.

OBJECTIVES OF THE SHOW
 To bring additional respect, recognition and notoriety to student designers and Models.
 To educate student designers on various aspects of creating real world designs.
 To give student designers the opportunity to meet with real time designers
 To showcase the designs and creativity of student designers
 To provide opportunity for student models to showcase themselves
 To provide an opportunity for all student designers to socialize with one another.












OVERVIEW

It is expected that 20 student designers would showcase their designs on the runway using at least a minimum of 6 models and a maximum of 12 models by each designer.

The uniqueness of this fashion show is that for the 1st time ever, student designers would be given the opportunity to showcase and exhibit their creativity, talent, as well as bring their brand name to limelight. The management has decided to set up a team of media personality that would produce a magazine for the event. The magazine would focus on the designer’s world as it relates to fashion. There would also be a photo shoot for all designers and models. All designers would be given space at the venue of the event to display their wears and make sales and contacts with persons that might be interested in the purchase of such wears.

The student designers fashion show would only have student designers, student models, student artiste who will give entertainment to the audience, student comedians etc.Student in this context might be student from tertiary institutions or students of a fashion school in Nigeria.

This event is to appreciate the impact and contribution of students to the growing fashion industry in Nigeria. The influence of holding a student designers fashion show would be filled long after the pipe and drape are taken down and the visitors have returned home. Registrants take home an increased awareness, skill, knowledge, contact etc.










FASHION TRACK
This is an opportunity for student designers to learn more about real world of fashion and for societal designers to learn more about student designs. We would call for papers from societal designers on various subjects to include (but not limited to):

 Fashion design from scratch
 Creating Collections
 Marketing a brand /Label
 Colour Blending/Separation
 Design Inspiration-A real time societal fashion designer would speak about his/her experience and hopefully answer questions from the audience.




























Designs Needed
Each set of designs should focus on a theme. The particular theme will be enhanced by a
Particular song or set of songs as your fashions are displayed on the runway. We hope to
have up to 20 designers and up to 120 designs.

Casual Ladies Wear
We are looking for unique shirts, mini skirts, sun dresses, couture shirts and other casual
Wear that can be worn during the day.
We will also accept party dresses for casual wear. Can you dance in it? Does it swing? Is it
Flexi, short or sassy? These should be fun and colorful!

Casual Men’s Wear
This is a great opportunity to get those cool men’s shirts on the runway and onto some RL
Guys too!

Intimate Apparel
Lingerie should be tasteful and should cover the breasts fully as well as the crotch.
Keep in mind that we will have models wearing these designs on a runway.

Evening Apparel

Show Stoppers
These can be extravagant evening gowns, bridal gowns, wild couture party dresses, or a
detailed trench coat that has a 15 foot train! The sky is the limit on this one and you are
Limited only by your imagination and your budget .

Fashion Show
The plan is to rent a professional runway setup with lighting such as the one pictured below. An “opening act” will be planned to energize the audience and get everyone motivated!
The purpose of the fashion show is to introduce these new designers to the rest of the world
and showcase their designs. Press from the appropriate media will be invited to attend.
