While some people are engage in idle talking,
Kwankwaso is busy working round the clock to
set the bar of performance high enough. This
is Tiga site of Kano Independent Power
Project. Just like the way you were celebrating
"designer" fly over/ride under bridges among
several other infrastructural transformations
that are ongoing in every nook and cranny of
the state, you will also soon smile home with
improved electricity. These sites will generate
a modest 35 megawatts in the next couple of
months.
The amazing thing about Kwankwaso's
unprecedented record of service as the
governor of Kano is that all these giant strides
are financed with no single borrowed kobo.
Phenomenal, you may say! Perhaps he is
among the only few governors who
understands the true essense of democratic
humanism. Building this level of infrastructure
and human capital within spate of four years
is not a lazy man job. It is not for the corrupt
and those who dish out handouts. This is not
a job for those who indulge in prebendalism.
You may hate his guts, despise his no
nonesense posture, grudge his domineering
persona, gossip about his unyielding
conviction- but you can't dismiss his epoch
making second coming as the governor of
Kano state. Kano is no longer a sight of dirts
and filth. It is no longer a record breaking
urban slum. It is now a functional mega city in
evolution. We must give credit to his team,
particularly his deputy (Ganduje), his SSG
(Rabiu Suleman Bichi), his commissioners (I
will single out that of Works for special
recognition), his advisers, and his loyal
supporters; to mention just a few.
This is just a sample of what APC is doing in
some states where it has governors. In Kano,
our slogan is: "We Can Do More".
