Scientists Reveal Likely Ways The World Will Probably End

BASED ON research, history and some scientific facts, we humans have been able to come up with scenarios that could lead to the end of our kind.
Here are a few scenarios of how the earth would end and they don’t at all look nice....

1. Asteroid Impact
Eventually, the world is going to end, or at least life on Earth as we know it, and when it does, it is probably going to be by one of these terrifying methods. Prepare yourself for the worst by reading about them before they happen!

You might not be aware but space debris hits the Earth every day. Of course much of it is tiny, but some of it is quite large. It is estimated that an asteroid would have to be at least a mile across to wipe out humans on Earth and one of that size hits about every 10 million years. If it happened to the dinosaurs, it could happen to us! Plus, scientists have determined that it would probably be impossible to blow up any asteroid of that size headed for us. So, that sucks!

2. Nuclear War
Not only is the tension high between many of the countries around the world, but a record number of them are armed with nuclear bombs: 9 to be exact. And only 5 of them have a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, leaving 4 countries doing whatever they want with them, including North Korea. Studies have shown that if worldwide nuclear war broke out and 100 bombs were launched it would create a nuclear winter with record low temperatures and severe impacts on the surviving population. If 1,000 bombs were launched, it is estimated that most if not all of the world’s population would be killed in the war.

3. Super Volcano Eruption
Some scientists actually theorize that volcanic eruptions could have been responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs and not an asteroid impact and another one was thought to kill about 95% of species on Earth about 200 million years ago. Want to know something that will really scare the pants off of you? There is a super volcano 34 by 45 miles wide under Yellowstone National Park that is due to erupt every 600,000 years and it has been 640,000 years since it last erupted. If and when this volcano erupts, it could emit 2,000 million tons of sulfuric acid, blocking out the sun for years and causing the equivalent of a nuclear winter.

4. Overpopulation
The Earth’s population is growing on a logarithmic scale or at an ever increasing rate. And while many people think that the problem will correct itself over the next 50 years as science finds ways to more efficiently use our planet’s limited resources, if we don’t, we could find billions of people dying of starvation and fighting for the Earth’s last banana.

5. Climate Change
By now most people can agree that our planet’s climate is beginning to change. Whether this is due to a normal cycle or helped along by humans is still somewhat up for debate though it is pretty likely that our steady stream of fossil fuels and other gasses into the air can’t be helping anything. However you look at it, increasing temperatures can cause any number of horrible scenarios to play out, including erratic weather patterns, drought, flooding of low lying areas, and even economic and political collapse. The long term future of this climate change could actually mean another ice age.

6. Ecosystem Collapse
About 30,000 species are lost every year due to human activity. Basically, at that rate, we are causing the next mass extinction and if we don’t leave enough plant and animal species on the Earth to sustain ourselves, we could be next.

7. Pandemic
Because people travel across the world every day, if a deadly disease that we couldn’t treat did crop up, it would probably spread faster than we could contain it. The fact that old diseases such as cholera and measles are cropping up with more frequency is making this all the more likely. Add in the fact that antibiotic resistance is a battle doctors fight every day and this is a frightening possibility to end humanity.

8. Biological Warfare
If a natural disease pandemic doesn’t wipe us out, there is always the possibility that man could help things along. An engineered batch of avian flu or even a huge amount of anthrax would be way easier for an enemy superpower to whip together than a nuclear bomb and either one could infect a majority of the world’s population before we could do much about it.

9. Particle Accelerator Mishap
Ever since the Large Hadron Collider was first turned on, people have feared that it could cause a tiny black hole and being to slowly suck in the Earth and destroy us all. And though scientists assure us that it can’t happen because it simply isn’t powerful enough, how do we know they are right, since it is such new technology? And besides, it is the nature of humans to build everything bigger and better, so it’s likely that one day there will be an even bigger particle accelerator that might actually cross that line!

10. Rogue Black Hole
Even if the LHC never creates a black hole that destroys us, it’s not the only one we need to worry about. There are an estimated 10 million black holes in the Milky Way! If just one of those got just a little too close to us, it could do anything from disrupt the orbits of the planets in our solar system to suck us all up.

11. Gamma Ray Burst
Gamma ray bursts are beautiful and totally deadly if you happen to get caught in their path. They are thought to originate by the merging of two collapsed stars and create about 10 quadrillion times as much energy as our sun. If we happened to get caught in the path of a gamma ray burst, it would likely cook our atmosphere, destroying the ozone layer, leaving us with no protection from UV rays. This would of course be disaster for our environment and for humans.

12. Robot Revolution
If you thought the Terminator movies were just good fun and could never happen to us, guess again. Computer scientists have estimated that the point at which artificial intelligence becomes smarter than humans is closer than you might think, perhaps 40 years away. Then it’s just a matter of whether the robots side with us or if they revolt!

13. Alien Invasion
Though we haven’t had any contact with aliens yet, it would be pretty amazing if we were the only life in the entire universe. And let’s face it, we have a lot of resources that an alien culture might want to take advantage of, so things might not go so well for us if we do make contact. Or we could suddenly find the Earth destroyed to make way for an alien hyperspatial express route!

14. Solar Flare
The sun is on a eleven year cycle, at the end of which it reaches it’s max, sending out huge solar flares. They can cause harmless things such as the Northern Lights or they can cause some pretty big things such as the major solar storm of 1859 that set fire to telegraph lines. Imagine if that took place today with all of the technology we have! It is estimated that if that storm happened today it could cause at least half of the US to lose power, causing millions to die, and it might not be able to be fixed for years!

15. Sun Expansion
If the Earth manages to escape cataclysm due to all of the previous ways, either with or without humans left on it’s surface, there is one surefire thing that will destroy it: the expansion of the sun. Our sun is already slowly expanding every day and in about 5 billion years, it will have become a red giant star, big enough to engulf the Earth. Long before that, however, perhaps in about 500 million years, it will already be significantly hotter than it is, enough to alter life as we know it on the planet, making it quite inhospitable for most life except thermophilic bacteria. Hopefully, if humans are still alive, we will have found a way to spread out to other planets throughout the galaxy by then!

16. Chernobyl
We hear a lot about natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods doing a lot of damage to populated areas, but humans have been responsible for some of the biggest disasters that have taken place on our planet.

One of the most famous man-made disasters was the meltdown of the nuclear plant Chernobyl in Ukraine in 1986. Over 350,000 people had to be evacuated from the surrounding area because the radiation fallout was estimated to be greater than both of the bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. In the end, 31 workers died while trying to shut down the plant and many suffered unimaginable long term health affects. The final death toll is not exactly known, but around 4,000 people are thought to have died from the short or long term affects of the radiation poisoning.

Terrifying but can't be doubted. The earth had its closest shave ever with a huge asteroid late last year. Could happen some day. Hopefully not in my lifetime.

Asteroids, chill joh. Another scary one is the freaking Rogue Black Hole. We all need gravity on our side for this one

I don't know if people can see it with me. But this Nuclear non-profileration treaty is a ruse used by the USA government and other countries who already have nuclear bombs to keep theirs (of course nuclear energy is excluded as many countries, most of Europe, etc, have nuclear energy) while preventing others from acquiring it.

Don't you ever wonder why they don't talk about Nuclear Elimination Treaty?

Nuclear disarmament is what we should be talking about.

The world needs to eliminate all the nuclear bombs they have and insure that no country build more, but no, the USA and other nations want to keep the nuclear bomb they already have....

I'm not a gullible peace and love person. It's important the USA and other countries keep their strong army to protect their country and people. Building planes, drones, tanks, guns, bombs of all kinds to keep their people safe. But I think they could get rid of nuclear bomb, because they cause danger to humanity, but instead they want to blind us with non-proliferation when we should be talking about elimination. Nuclear disarmament.
