The internet is described as a lawless frontier. You never know, who is dog tailing you.
Recently in naira land I read of the President seeking for an approval of 11billion naira to purchase equipments that will effect tracking of phone calls and online activities.
Though this is nothing new, each and other third party gsm network you subscribed to, tracks your online activities, even if to switch to your browser safe mode. techie thieves are deeply interested, at your sloppiness, when you lay your guide down, you will be swopped upon.

The need for VPN is not for tweaking purposes, but effectively effect your access to block websites locked to specific region. For example, many high investigative documentaries, movie, music etc locked by BBC to UK residents only thru their iPlayer, is kicked open, just like a flip of coin. Same to other TV and News network in the US.
When you connect to a US server, you will be surprised to see array of apps at play store though free, but may not be seen, if your IP address springs from Nigeria or anywhere else.
