The Super Eagles have moved one step higher from 42nd to 41st in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday. Nigeria however maintained their 7th spot in Africa. Algeria still held on to the continent’s top spot and 18th globally, and so was Africa champions Ivory Coast who sits 2nd in Africa and 20th in the world. Ghana also kept their 3rd place in Africa but moved up one step to 24th in the world. Tunisia, Senegal and Cape Verde made the top six teams on the continent, with Guinea, DR Congo and Cameroon completing the top ten. Germany continued to rule the world, with Argentina holding firm to the 2nd spot. Colombia and Belgium exchanged baton on the 3rd and 4th places, while the Netherlands still sit on the 5th spot.
