Wondering what OP meant to be container......This is just a cabin, that is to say mobile house, see nothing wrong with that, it can be use to temporary relocate people and offices if the permanent places were subjected to some kind of reconstruction.......Nigerians should be wise, this is not a new thing but the OP is backward in civilizations |

I think Op is economical with truth, the school in question is very close to my house. Why did he refuse to show the block buildings of the school so that people can have clear view of the school. The school is a brainchild of communal effort. I promise to post the whole pictures of the school environment today once i get home. |

As someone stated already, this type of construction should even be encouraged as almost if not the whole container can be recycled. using recycled steel can reduce construction cost and also the CO2 emission. for example, 6 scrapped cars when recycled, steel to build a reasonable house of about 20mx20m can be gotten. its a very sustainable way of building and should be encouraged. 1 Like |

It's not container, it's known as portacabin. It's okay to be used because the interior is very convinent and comfortable. It's used for outdoor camping or office especially by construction companies. |

So long as these are temporary then it is fine. This happens in a lot of countries when new buildings are going up - the children will have their classes in portakabins. The only country where this does not seem to be the case is England (from what I've seen) where 'temporary' portakabins have been used for 40+ years at some schools. |

that is portakabin, construction companies, oil companies and even some private firm uses it, you don't know how much that structure cost, only that they should equip it to be comfy |

Containers are in many ways an ideal building material because they are strong, durable, stackable, cuttable, movable, modular, plentiful and relatively cheap. Architects as well as laypeople have used them to build many types of buildings such as homes, offices, apartments, schools, dormitories, artists' studios and emergency shelters; we have even seen them being using as swimming pools. The biggest shopping mall or organized market in Europe is made up of alleys formed by stacked containers, on 69 hectares (170 acres) of land, between the airport and the central part of Odessa, Ukraine. Informally named "Tolchok" and officially known as the Seventh-Kilometer Market it has 16,000 vendors and employs 1,200 security guards and maintenance workers.
