Chelsea seem to be well on the road to recovering from the 3 -0 bashing they suffered at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday, defeating Southend United 4 - 1 on Wednesday in the FA Cup.
Didier Drogba was absent from the team that defeated Southend as he is being ''punished'' by Big Phil for his lacklustre performance against United. Phil Scolari has decided to take a 'no-nonsense' view in dealing with his expensive players from now on(Drogba was made to train with the reserves on Wednesday) so it's still not certain at this point in time if Didier will feature in Saturday's game.

The pressure is hot on Phil to produce results, but some are of the opinion that Chelsea's current shaky form is not the fault of the manager alone; the players also share in the blame as most have been putting up half-hearted performances lately. Guess yesterday's win was Chelsea's way of saying ''we are back''. Remains to be seen though. Southend United is different from Manchester United after all

Stoke City have announced the signing of James Beattie on a two-and-a-half year contract.  .  .he might make his debut in Saturday's game, though he only met his new teammates for the first time on Tuesday.
Stoke have always been a resilient team,holding Liverpool to a goalless draw in their last Prem game. Could they be one of those teams that only excel against the 'big 4' ?(plus or minus A.Villa, that is ) Also considering the fact that the Bridge isn't so impregnable anymore. Time will tell.

Chelsea has no other choice but to win this. It should be a knock out. Way to go Chelsea!
