KWAKWANSO PLOTS SINGLE TERM FOR BUHARI. DEMANDS AGREEMENT FROM Osinbajo AND TINUBU.
Yesterday's private meeting between leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano state governor ended without agreement as both parties could not reach a common ground on the Buhari single term issue. General Buhari has indicated to his close supporters that he may not be able to carry on the mantle of government for 8 years if elected as president in 2015 due to his failing health. He has agreed in principle to do just one term in the event of his emergence as president.
Governor Kwakwanso, a clear favourite to emerge as the next in line for the 2019 elections is already positioning himself for the future. First, the Kwakwanso group does not want a repeat of the Yaradua/Jonathan drama, where the Vice President deploys the leverage of office if the president becomes incapacitated or dies in office. That would mean an automatic stop for Kwakwansiya 2019.
Kwakwanso wants an agreement reached between the Northern caucus of the APC and the South-West caucus which will clearly outline that erudite lawyer and running mate Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will not seek to become president in 2019, in the circumstance that (God forbid) Gen. Buhari resigns, is incapacitated, or dies in office. The agreement will also hold that the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket ends completely in 2019 regardless of which of them is president by that time. Kwakwanso is also demanding that in the event that Prof. Yemi Osinbajo resigns from office, the party national working committee would determine who replaces him from the South West geopolitical zone.
Rising Tide has gathered that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has refused to be part of such an agreement. He insists that such a decision should only be discussed and adopted by the national working committee of the APC. He pleaded with Governor Kwakwanso to continue to give his best to the party, and stressed the strategic importance of Kano in the coming elections.
It remains unclear what the next step of Gov. Kwakwanso will be, but it is becoming increasingly obvious that all is not well in the Kwakwansiya family with the defection of a serving member of the Federal House of Representatives and a Special Adviser to the governor.
Kwakwanso was the first runner up in the last APC presidential primaries.

What i am aware of is that the major moves that can mar or make a party and its chances of being organised to win election are done close to election day.

We are even yet to see the game changing moves, remember it was in the last minute Tinubu made a deal for a candidate to step down in a previous election.

OP,what kind of source is this?

This report sounds right even though it doesn't have a source...just wondering what could be the reason behind kwakwanso and the arewa's visit to Tinibu.
