If Obi goes solo in 2027, he will have less votes than he did in 2023. Every other region plays politics to win but it seems the Southeast plays just to prove a point. A Northerner was Vice to Obasanjo in 1999 and the North became President. A Southsoutherner was Vice to Yar'adua and the Southsouth became President.
