The word change has been abused and misused in Nigeria. It has been turned into a mere catch word stirring a lot of people into a frenzy. The electoral season has further exposed the ignorance of Nigerians.

As it Is often said, change can be positive or negative. And for it to be positive, you have to change from old ways of doing things and ultimately get a better result.

Just yesterday, the presidential debate was held with one of the major contenders conspicuously missing. The reason adduced for this by the followers is that in 2011, the president also did not attend the presidential debate. Then one begins to wonder. If you represent change and you are justifying not attending a debate just because someone else didn't attend sometime ago, then, are you any different from the people you castigate.

Going back to the last election in america. Mitt romney was called a bully. Campaign ads were aired about how he used to bully people while in school. His family was also presented as people that maltreat animals. A lot of nasty things was said about him but that did not stop him from attending the series of debates organised for the election.

You claim the NEDG has been compromised, yet many other independent organisations offered to organise debates which you also turned down.

You claim you will fight corruption, but your educational qualifications are in doubt. If it is discovered that a professor or a medical doctor's o' level result was forged, then everything he has built on it comes to nothing and might even be withdrawn. Little things they say counts.

Every APC supporter out there should bow their heads in shame. This is not the change we desire....

Unfortunately, they don't care.

A man gave silly excuses to miss a debate and he's justified according to his zombie followers.

Saying GEJ's performances are there for the world to see, then why the need for debate, as if the debate is about GEJ. Normally, a debate should be about what he and the other candidates has/have to offer but the old general chickened out.
