Hi, al i want to buy a car and i honestly dont know the likely signs to look out for, av heard alot of suggestions like the sound of the engine, under the car for marks if its accidental etc but not fully convinced. can someone help pls.

Also about to get a Tokunbo car also. I was advised to ensure that the dealer as paid the full value of the import duty. You can ask the for the payment papers for the import duty and confirm from the appropriate authority.

Mine was fixed today. All they did was wash condenser and change filter

Go with a mechanic
Check odometer, this show the distance covered by the vehicle since manufactured. NB reading might have been rolled back
.
Run VIN through carfax to know if it has a clean title

Check body panel for slight color difference especially the bumpers and doors usually this means that part of the car was repaired due to damage or replaced

Check underneath the vehicle and the hinge areas for rust.

Check the type of smoke coming from the exhaust when the engine is running should be slightly bluish black smoke is a bad sign

Let your mechanic run a diagnostic scan on the vehicle.

If all checks out you it's likely a good buy.
