Ikeja City Mall, A Delightful Grandeur by Nobody: 11:51am On Mar 26, 2015
ICM or Shoprite as it is popular called is one of the largest shopping center in Lagos. Established in late 2011, it is situated in Alausa, Ikeja, home to the State Government and its parastatals. Ever since it was established, it has drawn a lot of visitors who often come to the mall to shop or relax.

If you are in town for business or leisure and you are looking for a one stop place for your shopping and feeding needs, ICM is the best pick for you. The mall is easily accessible to hotels in Ikeja and not difficult to locate.

The mall is an ultra-modern one and can be easily regarded to be up to world class taste as it is well structured, with parking ample parking spaces for hundreds of cars, good flooring system and signposts strategically located at each point of the mall.
The mall hosts about 100 stores with over 25 popular brands, among which are Shoprite, Mr Price, KFC, Silverbird Cinemas, Apple, Nike and Slot - just to mention a few. You will find a lot of fun things to feed your eyes with, and you may spend hours window-shopping and buying without even realizing you had spent so much time.

The most visited part of the mall is inarguably Shoprite, you will often find shopping carts being hurriedly pushed into waiting vehicles and a lot of other shoppers carrying “the yellow” shopping bags, along the walkway. Shoprite deals in the sales of consumable goods and household items, and its ability to meet the instant needs of the working class who can get food items (like meat, pepper, rice, local foods and ready-made homely meals) on a quick stop has earned it more customers.

Another part of the mall that witnesses an influx of visitors, though occasionally is the Silverbird Cinemas. Though the highest point in ICM is just a storey building, there is a lift that takes visitors to and fro the floors; to the Silver Bird Cinema or Restaurants located on the top floor. The Cinema has a movie schedule and shows movies ranging from local to international ones. Edible items bought from others stores are not allowed into the premises, and once at the entrance, the security lady/man will ask you to drop forbidden items at a corner designated for such purposes. Be well braced if you plan to buy something you can munch on while enjoying your movie because, their prices are doubled - they are ridiculously expensive!

After a tour of the mall, you can decide to eat in one of the many restaurants that offer local and intercontinental meals, take snacks or pizza. There are also bars and lounges located on the upper part that serve drinks like Chapman, smoothie, wine and more.

Though it is largely referred to as a shopping center, it has a lot of facilities that will make you agree it is more of an entertainment center. It cannot however be readily referred to as a tourist attraction center, but it is a place you can get shopping, entertainment, and leisure all under one roof.

Popular brands in the mall also organize fun activities like the “Ikeja City Mall Fashion & Music Show” and “Catwalk at Ikeja City Mall” that draws dignitaries and guests from time to time.

Visiting Pointers
• One thing you should be aware of is, most restaurants would not allow you seat in their store or under umbrellas designated for their customers.
• Parking ticket; after locating a parking spot, you must buy a ticket which you will tender at the gate on your way out.
• The mall opens from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.
• There are taxis readily at the gate, available to take you to anywhere you want.
