A gun battle has reportedly broken out on the popular Carter Bridge in Lagos State.

The incident is said to have occurred today, March 26, as police officers chased political thugs on the bridge.

Unconfirmed reports via Twitter also suggest that a robbery occurred on the bridge at the same time.

It is not clear what caused the trouble but political thugs have in recent times taken to destroying signs and posters of candidates of rival parties.
