As I write this, Jonathan has taken 40% of the total vote cast from Buhari's strongholds of North-West and North-East. These two regions have 13 States. Jonathan has also met the 25% requirement of the total vote cast in 6 of the States. He is unlikely to meet the 25% of the entire vote cast in the remaining 7 States.

However, Buhari has been so unfortunate in Jonathan's strongholds of the South-East and the South-South. He has not been able to secure 25% of the entire vote cast in any one of the 11 States within the regions.

The four areas of North-West (7); North-East (6); South-South (6) and South-East (5), have 24 States altogether. Buhari has met the mandatory requirement of 25% of the total vote cast in 13 of the 24 States. Jonathan on the other hand has secured the 25% of the total vote cast in 17 of the 24 States.

In terms of the popular vote cast, Jonathan has won 40 of every 100 votes cast in Buhari's strongholds of North-West and the North-East.
Nevertheless, in Jonathan's strongholds of the South-South and the South-East, Buhari has only managed to win 5 of every 100 votes. Jonathan is clearly leading in terms of the popular votes too.

We are left with Middle Belt and the Yoruba South-West. With the information now still clearly inconclusive, Jonathan has won 4 of the 6 States from the Middle Belt and also running in terms of the popular vote cast. In the instance of the Yoruba South-West, it is too close to call. Jonathan is clearly required to win this region.

Keep deceiving yourself. In Anambra alone, the margin of Jonathan's victory is not more than 150,000 from the results so far I read on the newspaper. Compare it to the margin of Buhari's victory in Jigawa only. This is about 5times of it.

CURRENTLY, we have popular votes as follows:
1. Core North (North-West and North-East): Buhari 60% and Jonathan 40%
2. Middle Belt: Buhari 40% and Jonathan 60%
3. South-West: Buhari 45% and Jonathan 55%.
This is roughly what it translated to:
Buhari: 60 + 40 + 45 = 145 votes.
Jonathan: 40 + 60 + 55 = 155 votes.

Jonathan has won 90 of every 100 votes from the South-East. He has also won 95 of every 100 votes from the South-South.
Buhari has also won 10 out of every 100 votes from the South-East and 5 out of every 100 votes from the South-South.
This more or less translated into:
Jonathan: 90 + 95 = 185 votes
Buhari: 10 + 5 = 15 votes.

If we tally all the total votes from the six regions altogether, we have the below result:
Jonathan: 155 + 185 = 330 votes
Buhari: 145 + 15 = 260 votes.

From the above calculation, Jonathan is projected to have more popular votes than Buhari. He will also have at least 24 states with 25% of the entire vote cast.Jonathan deservedly has won the election.

Lol. Buhari, not Jonathan, won 60% of the votes in the South West. Buhari won 3 out of the 6 states in the middle belt so I don't think Jonathan will win 60% there. Your maths does not add up

He is very wrong. Buhari won 60% of the votes in the SW and won all states except Ekiti. Jonathan did not get 40% of the votes in the NE and NW, in fact Jonathan failed to get up to 25% in many of those states. Fro example, in Jigawa Buhari won by over 700,000 votes and won by 85%.

We (southerners) are our own worst enemies. The north will control to rule us until we learn that the basis of politics in Nigeria is not rooted on fundamental policies and programme but it tends towards religious inclination and regional protection.

Just imagine Amaechi and ROCHAS Killing themselves to push their slave to master mentality on us while key PDP northern governors are delivering their states to the opposition without any fuss nor confusion.

THE uneducated north is more intelligent than the educated South. They allow the south have all the electronic media, social platforms, and others information dissemination apparatus and when issues of politics surfaces or rather electioneering campaigns, the south debate themselves out chanting programmes, policies and manifesto everyday on social platforms while the northerners vote for anything Alhaji without recourse to program of the certain candidate nor his qualification.

Olodo!

For a candidate to be declared winner, (1.) He/she must win majority vote of all total votes cast" and (2.)Must win in 25% of all the votes cast in 2/3 (24 states) of the Federation."

A candidate has to meet BOTH requirements if he/she is to be declared winner or the election shall be termed inconclusive and a Run-off election scheduled.

Sorry dude.

Politics in Nigeria as for me as passed the sentimental thoughts you have. What is the use of a southerner or better still my tribesman ruling me and I haven't felt the impact in my life.

What has Jonathan done for those in the creeks since he became president except enriching a handful of them?

Look here... I don't care even if a foreigner rules me, so far I'm convinced that he would make a positive impact in my life than someone I call my own.
