The 2015 Nigerian presidential election has come and gone, but not without leaving us the following lessons...

1. Persistence pays: If general Buhari could finally win the presidential election after 4 failed attempts, anything is possible. All you have to do is keep trying, and never give up. Failure can actually become success if you apply the right pressure.

2. Make the most of every opportunity, you never know your last: Providence set President Jonathan on the path to greatness, but somehow, he found reproach and failure instead. Everything worked in his favor...up until now. From deputy governor to governor, and vice president to president (like a fairy-tale)--- and all he needed to do was make the most of the opportunity he was given; put the citizenry first, address their most pressing needs, and watch them love you like a god, yet he managed to miss the point. It could have been him celebrating now,but his mistakes have cost him.

Your life is what you make of it, not what luck or Providence makes of it. The powers of failure and greatness lie within us. What side of the coin we end up depends on us. Opportunities will come; what you get out of them depends on your ability to recognize them and make the most of them. Do not procarsinate, do not trust in luck because we all run out of it eventually... even 'Goodluck' Jonathan did.
