When job seekers wants to write their CV or apply for a job, they often wonder which of their addresses is most suitable to be in their CV. In this post I shall guide you on how you can fix in the most adequate address and thereby increase your chances of getting that job.

First of all, I will like to point out that the first mistake job seekers make is to think that the Curriculum Vitae is what you can write once and for all and package. Unfortunately its not so because your CV isn't supposed to be static, it should be dynamic that is change with time. Your CV changes with your improvement in experience be it work or educational and as a matter of fact you shouldn't even have one CV for your job hunting.

Now the question is Which address is most suitable for the job you want to apply?

First of all, the answer to this question depends on which city you want to work in. If you want to work in say Aba, then its advisable to choose an address in Aba.

But if you are the mobile type, ready to move in to anywhere, then for a start you need to use a Lagos address. Using a Lagos address isn't a must do or a rule but most employers wants a Lagos based fellow to hire. The advantage of Lagos is that it is the commercial capital of Nigeria and the average mentality of most people living in Lagos tend to be more acquainted to a work environment more than other cities of Nigeria.

Yet the question is still there for you to answer. Which address?

Most recruiters at least from our experience will most likely hire someone who leaves not very far away from the work place. Our advice is before you attach your CV to that job application, take a look at the work place address. If you have an address that is closer to that place, please kindly use it.

Alternatively, during the interview, if somehow you were lucky to be called, try to assure your prospective employer that distance will not be a barrier if you get the job!
