[b]Manchester United Manager, Louis Van Gaal revealed Van Persie may not recover in time to face Manchester City in the Manchester Derby. Van Persie has not played for Manchester United since February after he left Liberty stadium wearing a protective boot after Manchester United lost to Swansea 2-1. Van Gaal ruled out Van Persie from the Aston Villa game on Saturday. Van Gaal does not foresee Van Persie being fit to face the English Premier league Champions on April 12. "I don't think so," Van Gaal replied when asked if Van Persie would play against Manuel Pellegrini's men. "The process has to give me signals he is ready for that but I know that from my experience it is not like that." Van Gaal believes it is realistic for Manchester United to finish second place on the table. "Of course [it is possible]. I cannot deny that because we have Manchester City at home," he added. "We have the strongest record at home so it's possible, but Manchester City is a top team so it shall not be easy." Manchester United have coped well without Van Persie. Their recent form shows that Van Persie is not missed by the red devils. Manchester United won four straight matches in the English Premier league before the international break, including notable wins against Tottenham and Liverpool. This left Manchester United two points behind Manchester City.
