Chelsea have made a bid for FC Tokyo’s Japan international striker Yoshinori Muto, his club has claimed. The bid from the Blues is reported to be around £4m and a spokesman for the Japanese club said:

“It is true that we have received an official offer from Chelsea for Muto. But nothing has been decided.”

He struck 13 goals last year and was named in the J-League’s best XI.

Muto told the Japanese press:

“I’m honoured to receive an offer from this wonderful team, but I have not made any decision yet.”
