The Independent National Electoral Commission Collation Officer in Uruefong Oruko, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Emmanuel Akpan, said the results of the elections in the area were recorded under serious threat and beatings.

Akpan said this in INEC office in Uyo on Sunday when he was called upon by the panel to announce the breakdown of the results in the area.

“The election results were recorded under serious threat and beatings,” he said.

Akpan, with swelling eyes and face because of the beatings and bruises, was asked out of the seat till a later time.

All attempts to speak to Akpan failed as the security personnel cordoned him from the reach our correspondent.
