Lately I have observed with great displeasure the brewing of tribal war in Nigeria especially among the youths, so it has become obvious that our parents really thought us well.this is like a cancerous cell eating deep into the heart of our nation-hood and breeding hate amongst us.trending today is the tribal war against the ibos, ppl seem to be lurking, waiting for them to do something perceived as negative so that they can pounce on them and vomit hate on them. When they re successful, they ask them what they brought from their father's land when they came and their confidence is seen as arrogance, when they express their views its seen as an insult by their host n when they make demand they are told they ve no right to do so. If Nigeria is to succed and remain one we must relegate tribe to the background, STOP the hate and see our selves as Nigerians. Cos at end when we meet in russia, what remains of us is our Nigerian-ness not tribe.

Nairaland shouldn't be your reference point to tribalism in Nigeria because I'm not fully sure it depicts the real situation.

You have to understand that everything online is a little exaggerated. Of course, there is tribalism in Nigeria and no ethnic group is exempted from it's own share of tribalists but it is not in your face like it is on Nairaland.

Most people here are just trolling. Are you Igbo?
