Jonny Evans also sits out due to a ban, with Phil Jones picking up a recent injury, meaning that Chris Smalling is partnered by Paddy McNair in central defence. Michael Carrick is out, meaning that Wayne Rooney will be dropped into midfield as a case of needs must, meaning that Radamel Falcao gets a rare start up top. Ashley Young and Juan Mata retain their places out wide, with Angel di Maria continuing to warm the bench. Robin van Persie is among the substitutes.
