This is a speech made by former South African President
P.W Botha to his cabinet about 27 years ago. It was
reprinted by David G Mailu for the Sunday Times, a South
African newspaper, in 1985.
I quote…
” We are not obliged even the least to try to prove to
anybody and to the blacks
that we are superior people. We have demonstrated that to
the blacks in 1001 ways. The Republic of South Africa that
we know of today has not been created by wishful
thinking. We have created it at the expenses of
intelligence, sweat and blood……We do not pretend like
other whites that we like the blacks
The fact that, blacks look like human beings and act like
human beings do not necessarily make them
sensible human beings. Hedgehogs are not porcupines
and lizards are not crocodiles because they look alike. If
God had wanted
us to be equal to the blacks, he would have created us all
of a uniform colour and intellect.
But he created us differently:
Whites, Blacks, Yellow, Rulers and the ruled. Intellectually,
we are superior to the Blacks;
that has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt over
the years. I believe that the
Afrikaner is honest, God fearing person, who has
demonstrated practically the right way of being. By now
every one of us has seen it
practically that the Blacks cannot rule themselves.
Give them guns and they will kill each other. They are
good in nothing else but making noise, dancing, marrying
many wives and indulging in sex. Let us all accept that the
Blackman is a symbol of poverty, mental inferiority,
laziness and emotional incompetence. Isn’t it plausible?
Therefore that the Whiteman is created to rule the
Blackman……And here is a creature (Blackman) that lacks
foresight….. The average Black does not plan his life
beyond a year”.
* So tell me , despite the insult, has the black man with
current events in south-Africa been able to prove this man
wrong after 27yrs.......??

In all honesty, it seems to me now like the whites wasted
time and resources colonizing and enslaving us. The way
it looks now, all they had to do was wait and the black
man would have given himself freely to them. Just how
many years after freedom from apartheid and such evils,
see where we are again. What manner of curse is this?!!!
Even though I have added my voice against these
horrendous acts being perpetuated by blacks and Africans
against their own kind, I cannot help but scoff at so many
Nigerians who in reality have no business complaining
since they have been engaged in exactly the same kind of
acts here only not always physically but mostly politically,
emotionally, financially, psychologically, etc, etc.
When we get it right at home, we can speak in one voice
against any danger and it will turn and run away. Until we
respect each other here and stop our own self-mutilation,
we have a long way to go.

When i saw this quote some years back my blood was boiled with full anger in me, my hatred for the "oyinbos" was of no measure. But come to think of it, most of african face problem cause by fellow african, take for instance, al-shabab was given gun and they kill kenyans same as bokoharam, might corruption cases in Nigeria, forceful enslavement of the citizen in Tanzanian and the recent happenings in SA vindicated what botha said decades ago. Honestly, we african need to correct the impression the rest of the world had about us by stopping all these vices in our environment. I believe being black is not a sin, the problem is that we fail to realize that we fashion our backwardness by our myopic perspective.
