The call for Sanction upon Abraham Ariyo for the hate statement he made against the Igbos on the social media may just hit the brick wall. It is a trite law that a private statement made not directly to the public and without any such intention being substantiated and not calculated to incite a criminal act may just be privileged.

hey lawyers in the house what do you think?

Was the statement for public consumption or was is directed to the public? will you regard same statement same way if it had come from one "low life" or one inconsequential fellow (im not attaching any importance to his status)?

What offence in law has he committed? Inciting genocide? compare this to the "Radio Rwanda" et al

Think in this light
