Everybody Must Join The Change Process – Osinbajo by helinues: 9:10am On Apr 22, 2015
The Vice President-elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has urged Nigerians to sustain the battle that brought about a change in government at the recent general elections, saying the process has just begun. Osinbajo called on citizens to continue to engage public officials and participate actively in the change process that started with the outcome of the general elections. This, he said, would bring the desired “relief” to the citizens.

In a message posted on his Twitter page on Tuesday, he urged Nigerians to see the outcome of the elections as a motivation to fight harder.

“Many Nigerians fought hard for this. Now we have to fight even harder the good fight for relief to the masses,” he tweeted.
Posting a photograph of celebrating All Progressives Congress chieftains, the professor of law admitted that “there are challenges” ahead. He, however, assured that they “are surmountable.”
He said the incoming leadership would require “hard fight” and inclusive participation to achieve success and provide the much-needed dividends to the people. The former Lagos State Attorney General/Commissioner of Justice has lately sustained his robust social media engagement, reiterating the pre-election promises the APC made to Nigerians.

To entrepreneurs, he said that business registration processes could be initiated and completed the same day. He tweeted, “There is no justice or justification for business registration delays. Why not the same day and a one-stop shop?”
He promised that the next government would put its feet down to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, adding, “The whole business of participating in politics must have some ethical basis.”

He, however, said “citizen engagement and participation is vital” for achieving the promised good governance. Hence, he called on the public to hold the government accountable.
“Government services must be both citizen and business-friendly. Time is of essence,” he said in a tweet extracted from his lecture at the London School of Economy Africa Summit.

Osinbajo said the administration of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, would hit the ground running. To achieve the needed change and do that speedily, he said, “We must fix the engine with car running.” Change, he said, is not just a campaign slogan, but something that “is possible and doable.” Nigerians, he urged, should believe in “change” and participate in achieving it.

With over a month still left on President Goodluck Jonathan’s regime, Osinbajo has, by his assurance, subjected himself and the much-expected administration to a social media scrutiny. And his fans have started taking advantage of his openness, suggesting what the government should do differently to make a mark.

Responding to the professor’s promise, a tweeter, Folashade Joseph, urged the administration to combat corruption and unemployment to achieve a “better Nigeria.”

One Yewer Sonter, who also commented on the platform, said nothing short of good governance would make up for the support Nigerians gave the APC.

Other elected officials are, however, also making promises. The Governor-elect of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, an avid user of social media, has gone to his Twitter page to assure the electorate that his election has marked the beginning of the “journey of change” in the state.

He has promised that his cabinet will be constituted on merit and that it would focus on making Kaduna “great again.”

El-Rufai’s Rivers counterpart, Nyesom Wike, has also promised via Facebook and Twitter posts that he would honour the social contract he has entered with residents of the state.

“Our promises are our bond. Now that the Rivers people have elected me, we shall work relentlessly towards achieving our vision for a better Rivers State. We believe that together we can create better opportunities and achieve more for the people.”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party has insisted that the APC used propaganda to attain power.

The party, which launched a social media attack against its rival, said it was waiting to see how the Buhari team would sustain its government with propaganda.

“The APC has successfully used propaganda and lies to get to power. Now, let us see how they will use the same strategies to sustain it,” the party tweeted.

GEJ administration marginalized AND SACKED PEOPLE TO SET OUT HIS TRIBALISTIC AGENDA

Igbo man Ike Nkeremandu, Deputy Senate President

Igbo man Emeka Ihedioha, Deputy Speaker

(Imagine that in a country with 6 geopolitical zones, one occupies the two of the 4 major National Assemby leadership positions!!)

Igbo man Pius Ayim, Secretary to the Federal Government

igbo man Godwin Emefiele is the governor of the central bank of Nigeria

Igbo woman, Finance Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy

Igbo woman petroluem Minister

Igbo man Nebo, Power Minister

Igbo man Minister of aviation

Printing and Minting - Igbo

Nafdac -Igbo

mINISTER OF Health - Igbo

Jonathan removed other tribes from head of parastatals and put Igbos there but that would be addressed now. Bureau of statistics was filled up with Igbos.

Even the Hausas/Fulanis in military have never done this above show of shame and pure tribalism. And Igbos were quiet all through that administration cos others were marginalised.

Well said prof, very well said. The mistake GEJ handlers failed to realise was the importance of the social media. The PDP-led administration ran an elitist government at the expense of the voting masses. APC realised the power of the social media and used it to their advantage. The masses congregate at the social media and what better way to attract them than the social media.

Emefiele an Ika man and Okonjo Iweala an Enu-ani woman, all became Igbo overnight cos it's time for Igbo bashing, same way Nzeogwu and other Anioma soldiers involved in the coup all became Igbo overnight, cos it was time for Igbo bashing.

One minute, you lots will say there are no Igbos in SS, Igboland starts and ends in SE you say, Igbos are trying to attach themselves to groups in SS not comfortable with the Igbo tag you preach.

But when it's time for Igbo bashing, Igboland suddenly starts existing outside the SE, and anyone with Chi, Chukwu, and other Igbo names will not be spared.

I salute you o!

Which 'change' are you talking about? You mean the change occuring in Lagos where 'leave allowance' of civil servants have been withheld for years by Jagaban or in Osun where salaries are being owed for months when the clown governor was busy wasting billions of naira on o'meal, opon imo and other bullshytes....I ask again...which change?
